Step 1: Review and question

Though you may not be aware, over the past two weeks you have learned a vast amount.

The best way to consolidate all this new material, is to regularly review it. This is why you processed it first in the shape of a Script Report.

Today you are going to look over those structured notes, and see if they all make sense to you.

Screenwriting is not an exact science. It is in perpetual motion, and what was the rule yesterday may land your script in a producer’s bin tomorrow.

Therefore, sometimes things may seem contradictory, and you want to make sense of it all. This is more than natural.

So, give your synopsis and Script Report a thorough read.

Meanwhile, ask yourself constantly: do I understand this? Does this make sense? Is it consistent? Do I understand WHY things are done this way?

While many practices are based on conventions, these are mostly rooted in common sense or practical considerations.

If anything is not crystal clear to you, today is your opportunity to frame this as a question to ask during the Zoom class tomorrow.
