Day 2 – The Bootcamp begins

First day of real work!

Every day for the next six days, you’ll be reading a few pages from the 2021 BlackList screenplay Wait List.

Remember, this part of the work we call Discovery.

The idea is to read for no longer than 15-20 minutes, and no more than the 15-20 pages included. If you finish early, use the time left to make some notes in your script journal about the most important story points, and what jumped out for you in terms of formatting and style. You will use these notes later for the synopsis and report.

But first …

In our Forgery task for the day, you’ll be copying a page from a screenplay into your preferred script software.

For the next ten days, this will be the way for you to develop the muscle memory to handle style and formatting challenges.

Now, choose your Forgery genre.

You’ll always have the option between two different genres. We open with some suspense from JURASSIC PARK, written by David Koepp.

The alternative genre will be COMEDY. Later, you’ll also encounter ACTION, SCI-FI, etc.
